Welcome HomeArtist: Beth Prysnuk Album: Welcome Home Year: 2015 CD#: XXXXX Canadian? Yes Best Tracks: #1, #2, #5, #7 Comments Overall: Simple, folksy, homey, fun, a group of friends jamming together 1. Man of Habit, 3:20 - Begins slowly, steady rhythym, a man doesn't want to change his daily habits, infectous, best track on the album 2. Baby Lies, 2:53 - Begins slow, simple and elegant, repetitive, "over the mountains far away my baby lies", "he lies about his arm and who they're for" 3. Dishes, 3:06 - Slow, sad, a woman doesn't want to do the dishes without her lover, lovely and elegant 4. The Knitting Song, 4:20 - Begins with humourous discussion of what the song is "all about", a song about knitting as sexual innuendo, fades out at the end 5. Of Time and of Seasons, 4:12 - Slow, sweet, snuggling with a lover on a rainy day, runs through all four seasons, the violin is lovely 6. Legacy, 4:54 - Slow, longing, quiet, a woman and her guitar 7. Pennies, 2:08 - Slow, longing, a woman expresses regret over a lost love, hearbreaking, beautiful, five seconds of silence at the end 8. Batchawana Bay, 3:10 - Begins with a story about the song, a simple call-and-response song, excellent for campfires but probably not for radio play, ends with a footnote to the story about the song 9. The Rocker, 2:26 - Begins strong, upbeat, a little chaotic Note: The CD was recorded in a single day at the Sugar Shack in an extremely casual session.
