Ephemera Blues
Artist: Golden Death Music
Album: Ephemera Blues
Year: 2007
CD#: XXXXX
Canadian? Yes
Best Tracks: #2, #6, #7, #11, #12
Comments Overall: ambient, mesmerizing, relaxing, like something you want to slip away into and never wake up
1. Endless Dream, 3:14 - begins with quiet mechanical noise, rises in intensity until music starts, mesmerizing and dreamlike, drops off abruptly and ends in fading noise
2. Waking Nightmare, 3:22 - starts with a droning noise, develops gradually, deep, trance-inducing, ends with pulsing noise
3. Together, 2:22 - low, quiet, muffled, like something heard from the bottom of a well, a nice short track, fades away
4. Morning Sun, Morning Song, 3:35 - starts slowly and quietly, music starts at 0:13, repetitive, low, occasionally rises up magnificently, dies out at the end, two seconds of silence at the end, magnificent song but awkward for radio
5. Self Help, 1:59 - rhythmic, relaxing vocals with upbeat instrumentals
6. Lost in Violence, 5:04 - repetitive, magnificent, rises and falls, mesmerizing, fades out at the end
7. Ephemera Blues, 4:16 - begins relaxed and leisurely, transitions to rhythmic and regular, transitions again to soothing vocals, fades out with instrumental bit at the end, fades out again
8. In Silence, 4:26 - begins confident and droning, alternates between clear sections and crowded sections, fades out
9. True Beauty is Emptiness, 4:22 - opens with electric guitar, breaks into mesmerizing, deep, and breathy, rises to majesty in places, fades out
10. Ringing, 0:40 - a long, melodic ringing sound, an interesting filler between two ambient or electronic tracks
11. The Unmaking, 5:01 - begins ambient and aquatic, calming, mesmerizing throughout, rises and then fades out
12. Into the Ocean, 6:32 - begins quietly, a long track you can fall into, possibly the best track on the CD, breaks at the end, fades out with waves
